It's almost to the end of our journey together. I don't mean to sound sappy or anything but yeah, I'll miss all of you. I think I've said that enough times to make you puke, so moving on..

We are so close to the end, I could almost taste it. But I swear I tried to drink it off. Tried so hard to wash away the taste. It tastes bitter and bad. Like Ajinomoto inside Maggie Mee, it just doesn't feel right. I am so used to:

Xiao Yee and her innocent attitude. One convo with her will make you go 'aww'. :)
Foong Wen and her clueless antics.
Li Syuen and her ladylike behaviour.
Uva and her wide smile
Izzy and her guy-ish attitude. :P And she's such an amazing JOCK. Athlete of the YEAR babeyh
Uma and... her.. well, to put it to acceptable term, sense of humor. But I prefer lunatic behaviour.
Aisyah being the best KD ever. Or worst, depending the way you look at it. :P
Elynna and... her braces. Not to mention, for being the laughing monster, cheerful and COOLIO.

Adina has done it. I will do it too.

In less than 2 weeks, we will get out from 2A. We will be separated from each other. And naturally that's a reason we will be strayed and far from each other.

Words couldn't even begin to express how dreadful it is to move out. I feel like I'm getting kicked out of my own house. This is the place I called home for almost 11 months. Almost 1 year. And how could I throw that away? How could I move out from the place and the people I love too much? How can I move on? How can I leave a part of me behind?

Because that's how I feel about each and everyone of you. You guys are apart me. 2A defines me.

11 months is not a short period of time. It feels like my whole life. A whole life full of ups and downs. And I don't want to change anything. Not even the part where Farhanah scolded us. Not even when Tusy cried (and that hurts to watch). Not even when Azrianna is fighting with Aisyah. Everything is perfect and it feels like home.

2 more weeks. 2 more very short weeks and 2A 2009 will be a history. A one hell of a history. An epic tale. A legend.

This will be a chapter of my life that forever will remain open. I will flip through the chapters everyday and I won't forget every moment we have spent together.

But promise me something, can we not be strangers? Can we not pass each other by and look away? Can we not let it be awkward? Can we always remember each other? Please promise me that whenever we see each other, we will hug and jump and fistbump. We will chatter away in happiness. We will see each other everyday. Please. I'm asking you to not forget about 2A. Can we not let it be a permanent goodbye?

Good news right? But it comes with a bad news. Hey, nobody said you can have it all good. Give some take some. (crap crap crap)

Anyway, two more weeks to the dreadful sejarah Drama Competition. I know this sucked but do it please? Do it for to honor the memory of 2A. We can win this right? I hope so. So don't miss out on school. It's not fair for all of us. The director, the casts and crews all play such vital role in this production (IT IS A PRODUCTION!)So all absents will not be accepted.

I mean, what kind of a selfish git would even do SUCH A THING? Cutting school and let people pick up the slack. Is that fair? You know what we call people like that now, if you want to risk being a selfish git then be my guest. But just take note on how people look at you from today onwards.

On the brighter note, we have to start thinking about year end class party! It's gonna be rad I tell you!

He borrowed $100 and he bought the shoes by $ 97 so:

97 / 2 = $ 48.5 for each of them plus he gave them $1 each after that, then the total with each one of them (the two who gave him the money) $49.5

How to Stop Laughing when You Laugh at Inappropriate Times

1. Understand when it is inappropriate to laugh.

2. Check to see if others are laughing, or at least smiling a lot.

3. Think of something very sad and depressing.

4. Try pinching yourself or causing some other strong physical sensation, such as biting your inner cheek or your tongue (don't bite too hard!).

6. Force yourself to turn your laugh into a cry if the occasion is something sad such as a funeral.

7. Try exhaling as much of the air as possible from your lungs. This removal of the air will not allow the laugh to continue and make it stop.

8. If it gets really bad, hold your nose and cover your mouth with that hand.

9. Open your mouth wide and let the laughter out silently without smiling, this may look odd but it works.

10. Pretend to pick your teeth. Open your mouth wide and pretend to pick away at something stuck.

11. Use reverse psychology on yourself. By telling yourself something like, "This is funny! Laugh some more!" you end up finding what ever you were laughing at not funny any more.

12. Count backwards from 10 to 1. If this doesn't work, try again. Even forward counting can help.

13. Try biting down on one side of your lower lip. Then laugh all you want without opening your mouth. People will think you are crying and trying to hold it back. But after you are done, don't just stop. Inhale a few times as if you are hyperventilating.

14. Push your tongue against the top of your mouth, and at the same time pushing your mouth shut slightly.

15. Bite your tounge and pull your cheeks back....or if you are at a funeral or something serious, hold your hands up to your face and smile and laugh as much as you want but try to make the laughing sound like you're crying.

16. Close your mouth and breathe heavily through your nose, as if you are laughing, just without opening your mouth. It can be covered up as a cold or something of that nature.

17. Bite the inside of your cheeks.

19. If multiplications are too much of a strain for you, you can always try other calculations, or just try to remember something, anything. Try to remember the names of all your friends and relatives, for instance, or trying to list all the songs of your favorite music album. The ancient Greeks called the lavender herb nardus, after the Syrian city of Naarda. It was also commonly called nard.

Lavender was one of the holy herbs used in the biblical Temple to prepare the holy essence, and nard is mentioned in the Song of Solomon (4,14),

Plant description

Where is it commonly grown?

Lavender is native to the mountainous zones of the Mediterranean where it grows in sunny, stony habitats. Today, it flourishes throughout southern Europe, Australia, and the United States. Lavender is native to the Mediterranean, the Arabian Peninsula, Russia, and Africa.

Lavandin is the name for a variety of lavender that derives from a cross between English and spike lavender. Commonly grown in France, it dates from the 1820s. A specific cultivar of Lavadin known as ‘Abrialii,’ ‘Abrial’ or ‘Abrialis’ formed the basis of the French lavender industry from 1935 to the 1970s. Description

Ginkgos are very large trees, normally reaching a height of 20–35 m (66-115 feet), with some specimens in China being over 50 m (164 feet). The tree has an angular crown and long, somewhat erratic branches, and is usually deep rooted and resistant to wind and snow damage. Young trees are often tall and slender, and sparsely branched; the crown becomes broader as the tree ages. During autumn, the leaves turn a bright yellow, then fall, sometimes within a short space of time (1–15 days). A combination of resistance to disease, insect-resistant wood and the ability to form aerial roots and sprouts makes ginkgos very long-lived, with some specimens claimed to be more than 2,500 years old: One of the oldest Ginkgo trees is in Shanghai, within the Yuyuan Garden; it is four centuries old. A 3,000 year-old ginkgo has been reported in Shandong province in China.^[5]

Some old Ginkgos produce aerial roots, known as chi chi (Japanese; "nipples") or zhong-ru (Mandarin Chinese), which form on the undersides of large branches and grow downwards. Chi chi growth is very slow, and may take hundreds of years to occur. The function, if any, of these thick aerial roots is unknown.

Leaves

The leaves are unique among seed plants, being fan-shaped with veins radiating out into the leaf blade, sometimes bifurcating (splitting) but never anastomosing to form a network.^[6] Two veins enter the leaf blade at the base and fork repeatedly in two; this is known as dichotomous venation. The leaves are usually 5-10 cm (2-4 inches), but sometimes up to 15 cm (6 inches) long. The old popular name "Maidenhair tree" is because the leaves resemble some of the pinnae of the Maidenhair fern Adiantum capillus-veneris.

Distribution and habitat

Although Ginkgo biloba and other species of the genus were once widespread throughout the world, the tree currently occurs in the wild only in the northwest of Zhejiang province in the Tianmu Shan mountain reserve in eastern China, but even its status as a naturally occurring species there is questionable. In other areas of China it has been long cultivated and it is common in the southern third of the country. It has also been commonly cultivated in North America for over 200 years, but during that time it has never become significantly naturalised.

Culinary use

The nut-like gametophytes inside the seeds are particularly esteemed in Asia, and are a traditional Chinese food. Ginkgo nuts are used in congee, and are often served at special occasions such as weddings and the Chinese New Year (as part of the vegetarian dish called Buddha's delight). In Chinese culture, they are believed to have health benefits; some also consider them to have aphrodisiac qualities. Japanese cooks add Ginkgo seeds (called ginnan) to dishes such as chawanmushi, and cooked seeds are often eaten along with other dishes.

Medicinal uses

Extracts of Ginkgo leaves contain flavonoid glycosides and terpenoids (ginkgolides, bilobalides) and have been used pharmaceutically. The bark is astringent and demulcent. Along with the leaves and roots it is used for medicinal purposes. Colombians bathe in the bark decoction as a treatment for typhoid .

The gummy roots have been chewed as a treatment for sore throat . A decoction of the gum from the trunk has been used in the treatment of diarrhea . An infusion of the flowers has been used as a stomachic. It is also used in the treatment of dyspepsia and neuroses. The flowers are added to ointment, which is rubbed on the forehead to treat headaches.

The powdered dried leaves have been applied externally as a treatment for wounds. The green pods have been decocted and used in the treatment of dysentery and inflammations of the skin and raucous membranes. An infusion of the pod has been used in the treatment of sore throats, diarrhoea, leucorrhoea, conjunctivitis, and uterorrhagia .

This plant comes in many different spesies.The flower has a wide variety of colours such white, yellow, gold, pink, lavender , red, bronze and purple.It can grow up to 2-3 feet high. It also comes in many different shapes and are grouped by their petal arrangement. Its petals are soft with long stems.

COMMONLY GROWN:

The flower is cultivated and grown in China as a flowering herb. The flower was first introduced to Japan and was later brought to Europe. It is now grown in many places and can be found in most parts of Asia and northeastern Europe.

HOW IS IT GROWN:

The plant has to be

planted in early spring or any other time as long as they establish their root system before the hottest weather. They grow best under full sunshine with plenty of food and moisture. The plant can be grown in two ways.

Cuttings

Strip the lower half of the leaves from a 4-6 inch healthy cutting. 3 / 4 part of will be inserted about one inch deep into sterile moist sand, vermiculite or sphagnum moss. Create a mini-greenhouse over the container with poly film over a wire frame and place it in a bright spot and NOT under full sun until the roots form.

Seeds

Pyrethrins attack the nervous systems of all insects .When not present in amounts fatal to insects, they still appear to have an insect repellent effect. They are harmful to fish, but are far less toxic to mammals and birds. They are also biodegradable and break down easily on exposure to light.

Objective:
To reduce global warming by planting trees around the school and to instill awareness among the students and staffs.

Achievements:
-Getting first prize in an evironmental project by Toyota.

Projects:
-Herbs garden in front of biology lab
With the help of generous Toyota giving them RM500 and TMI nusantara Sdn. Bhd. also funding them with RM500, they have managed to install a herbs garden which consist of various types of plants carrying various types of medicinal values.

-Sprinkler system at Herbs Garden

The sprinkler system is connected to another evironmental project by Sri Aman- Rainwater Harvesting tank. This also plays an important in saving the evironment as The Eco Rangers are reusing rain water. So, in a way, they helped to reduce the usage of water.

-TER Corner

This is a corner under the form 5 classes where students can relax and read some scrapbooks by Eco Ranger. Students can read about the uses of various types of herb plants.

-Eco Mini Jungle
It is located at Sri Aman field. They have placed the bottles in the soil on account of the humid weather. The bottle acts as an instant watering cans for the plants. This step is to ensure that plants receive enough water as it is vital for their growth.

Rain Water Harvesting

What is Rain Water Harvesting?

Rain water harvesting is the gathering, or accumulating and storing of rain water.

Objective.

To reduce the usage of water.

How does it work?

The water is collected from the gutter, and will travel down into the filter through a big white pipe. The filter which of course will filter the water and discards the dirt to the drain. The clean water will then go into the big container. The rain water is used at the first four toilets in Block C. Besides that, the water is also used by 'The Toyoto Eco Rangers' to water their herbs using the sprinkler system. There is also another tank that stores the rain water that is located near block E and the mobile classes.

Who are the peoples involved?

The peoples involved in this project for now is the Rain Water Harvesting team led by Puan Nor Hafizah binti Amran. Atlhough, other peoples can also practice this so that we can together reduce the usage of water.

How can I reduce the usage of water?

-Never pour water down the drain when there maybe another use for it such as watering plants and washing cars.

-Place a bucket in the shower to catch excess water and use this to water plants. The same technique can be used when washing dishes or vegetables in the sink.

-Don't let water run while shaving or washing your face. Brush your teeth first while waiting for water to get hot, then wash or shave after filling the basin.

-Avoid flushing the toilet unnecessarily. Dispose of tissues, insects and other similiar waste in the trash rather than in the toilet.

-When washing dishes by hand, fill one sink or basin with soapy water. Quickly rinse under a slow-moving stream from the faucet.

Solar Cooking, heeee

Due to human unlimited act that lead to environmental problems, finding an alternative source is a need. What with scientist predictions that in another 30 years most of the petroluem will be used up. What will we do then? Creative ideas are spilt out and actions are taken.

Solar energy is chosen a one of the alternative energy source. And in Malaysia, the place where we will get sunlight every day of the year, using solar energy to replacement for petroluem is not a problem.

The objectives are :

To boil water using solar energy which is a renewable source of energy
To reduce the consumption of electricity to save mother earth
To develop teamwork among participants
To develop creative thinking skills among students
T nuture confidence and effective communication skills in participants

Solar cooking is basically a project that involves the usage of solar energy to cook. We can pasteurize water or cook simple food such as sausage and egg. With an understanding of basic principles which are (reflection, refraction, insulation, greenhouse effect, conduction) and access to simple materials such as, mounting boards, plastic, aluminun foil, pebbles and satay sticks an effective model can be build.

Team members who are involved in this project are Nur Farhanah, Ng Pui San and Sarah Nadia led by our beloved teacher advisor Pn. Norafizan. Pn. Ngau and Cik Norashyikin are also inderectly involved.

this project which had been going on for about four years now is attracting many talented
students.
- For SMK(P) Sri Aman, this year is our first year and yet we manage to achieve unlimited sucess with continuosly hardwork from all team members and teachers, not forgetting the support from the school.

Next week Sunday, we are heading to Perlis for the national level competition. Wish us luck!
